Announcing a new, minor article relating to live-performance Csound:
A BETTER LIVE-PERFORMANCE CSOUND PRESET FOR CME UFx SERIES CONTROLLERS
The article discusses the CME UF5/6/7/8 MIDI keyboards as Csound control surfaces. The UFx’s have a single, rather convoluted preset that has been modified (through various USB driver incarnations) several times. The solution: a new sysex preset. Included is a discussion of the MIDI controller options I routinely use in my compositions; choices I’ve settled on in order to accommodate a wide range of control surfaces. (Happily, the new CME UF50/60/70/80 series comes much closer to “getting it right.”)
