Fusion: Live DJ Producer Application

Hi All,

As promised I have uploaded the application, Fusion which I made for my Final Audio Systems Project at university.

Some of the elements of the graphics were adapted from pre existing software. Here are some screens:

DJ Section:

Drum Machine Section:

Synth Section:

(Delete space at end of the links i.e DrumsBackGroun d.jpg should be DrumsBackGround.jpg. No idea why the forum does that, has happened to me before)

The version uploaded is about 30mb big as it contains a PDF user manual and will only work on MACs. I havent yet built an application from my PC laptop as it is struggeling at the momment.  I intend on getting a new PC in a couple weeks so if people are interested in a Win XP version I will up that too.
The program is quite buggy at the moment as I haven’t really sat down since I handed it in to iron them out.

Feel free to have a go with the program post some feedback. If anyone is interested in helping develop it further then just send me an email.

Enjoy.

Maestro 1.0 –Play. Learn. Sing.

I am happy to announce the release of Maestro 1.0 – an application developed using Max/MSP.

Maestro lets you play pre-configured songs by tapping the rhythm of the melody or other lead instruments of the song on the computer keyboard or on an attached midi keyboard. If you can sing or whistle a song you’ll be able to play it right away. Some songs contain lyrics which get displayed as you play the song. Maestro even gives you a score for your performance based on your timing.

Maestro can also help teach how to play the song notes if you have a Midi keyboard attached to your computer – under Maestro’s “learning mode” the program visually displays the next note/s to be played and will not “move on” until these note/s are played.

The songs are located on a remote server and are downloaded automatically when the user selects a song from the Maestro song list. Maestro updates its song list via the internet each time it runs so it is always up-to-date.

Currently there are around 150 songs in various languages, including some classical music too.

A Windows version of the software is available for immediate download. A Mac version will follow shortly.

I hope you give Maestro a test run and let me know what you think.

Happy Maxing,

Mr. Maestro

new version of sfmarkers~ – WAVE loops recognized

Hello,

after a suggestion by Torsten Belschner (see his recent post), I added
to sfmarkers~ the ability to return the loops defined in a WAVE file.
You can download this object at http://users.skynet.be/crfmw/max
MacOS only.

Conceptually, I’m not totally convinced by the way I implemented this:
loops are considered as regular markers (with predefined names ‘beg
loop’ and ‘end loop’). But this is the way loops are saved in AIFF
files by some softwares.
Beside loops positions it could also be possible to get other ‘sampler’
informations like loop type (forward, backward, …), pitch, tune, etc.
(I just need to add a couple of C lines in my code πŸ™‚ but I don’t know
if this should be sfmarkers~’ job.
If there is some interest, I could add an outlet to send these
‘sampler’ informations, like loops. But as in AIFF files, loops are
more often saved as markers than as loops per se, I’m not sure it’s the
best option…
Because AIFF and WAVE are not consistent, I can’t find any consistent
solution. Suggestions are most welcome!
